SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Laodicea ad Mare. Gaius (Caligula). AD 37-41. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 12.26 g, 12h). ΓAIOY KAIΣAPOΣ ΣEBAΣTOY ΓEPMA[...], laureate head right; B to left, ΦΙ to right / [IOYΛ]IEΩN TΩN KAI ΛAOΔIK[EΩN], veiled, draped, and turreted bust of Tyche right; I∆ below. Prieur –; RPC Supp. 2, S2-I-4382A (this coin). VF, toned, rough surfaces, scratches and marks. Unique. Prieur did not own this example when he published his book, one example, this coin, in CoinArchives, and this is the only specimen known to the authors of RPC.
